Orphan Support Africa (OSA) is an established 501 (c) (3) non governmental organisation that empowers and works with community based organisations that support
Orphan and vulnerable children (OVC) in Sub- Saharan Africa.
OSA supports CBOs in mobilizing and harnessing community strengths and resources to take care of the growing numbers of orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) as a result of HIV/AIDS and poverty. The drastic and severe effects of HIV/AIDS has left communities overwhelmed with growing numbers of OVCs. OSA partners with CBOs that are on the front line in providing critical services such as children’s health, development, education and social integration projects to the growing OVC numbers in Sub-Saharan Africa.
"The children of the world are innocent, vulnerable, and dependent. They are also curious, active, and full of hope. Their time should be one of joy and peace, of playing, learning and growing. Their future should be shaped in harmoney and cooperation. Their lives should mature as they broaden their perspectives and gain new experiences"
(World Declaration on the Survival,
Protection, and Development of Children
September 30,1990)
